Spokane : Washington

A rich agricultural region, Spokane lies near the eastern border of Washington, about 20 miles from Idaho and 110 miles south of the Canadian border. It is the commercial and cultural hub of a large area known as the "Inland Empire" or the "Inland Northwest”. It is a favorite spot for tourists because of its picturesque surroundings. It has all the modern amenities that a city can ask for. The city recovered marvelously after the decline during the late 1980s and early 1990s with various development projects.

The city lies on the eastern edge of the Columbia Basin, a wide sloping plain that rises sharply to the east towards the Rocky Mountains. Summers in Spokane are typically dry and mild while winters are cold and wet.
